Everything Bagel Chickpeas

Everything bagel baked chickpeas

Who doesn’t love everything bagel seasoning. Trader Joe’s made this famous a few years back and I think everyone jumped on the bandwagon and started to consume this in masses. At first I would purchase this seasoning from Trader Joe’s but, as a chick in my early twenties trying to save some money anywhere I could, I started making this seasoning myself. At first I just used whatever Trader Joe’s had on their ingredients label. Year’s later I have my own twist on it, check out my Everything Bagel Seasoning here and see my twist. That seasoning has inspired me to make many recipes, including this one, Everything Bagel Chickpeas.

Just like everyone else, I am trying to start this new year eating right. So, I decided to make my Everything Bagel Chickpeas. This super simple snack is so diverse. I use this on salads, on top of avocado toast, and even just to pop as I am watching re-runs of The Office.

Chickpeas and spices

Now, I know that many people hate on the sudden popularity of chickpeas but this is a people pleaser. Even my steak loving, burger eating, work outdoors, brother loves these Everything Bagel Chickpeas as a snack. I challenge you to make this for a picky friend and see what they think. I am telling you even they will enjoy this. Try it with a dip or sauce. We have added this to pasta drizzled in olive oil and garlic. Yum.

Chickpeas and spices

I make these Everything Bagel Chickpeas at least once a month to switch up my salad toppings for lunches. It’s filling without the guilt. So then I can eat cookies after dinner! It’s balance, right? I’m more on the “New year, same me” mode. I can’t give up my sweets. I’ll just have to rotate this as one of my nightly snacks instead of always having sweets. Hmm, I wonder how sweet chickpeas would be? I’ll have to test that out…
