Val and I have loved using turkey meat for the past couple months. We’ve found that turkey meat actually holds the spices and flavors a bit better than beef. That’s the main reason we decided to use turkey in our farmers market turkey burger. Another added benefit is that after eating a turkey burger I don’t feel sluggish like when I eat ground beef. I feel like the grease from the burger weights you down a bit. If you didn’t know, ground turkey actually has the same, if not more, calories than ground beef though.

This Farmers Market Turkey Burger truly does have a lot going on and you would think the flavors would drown each other out. The flavors actually play rather well together. I believe what brings it all together is the goat cheese, it adds the creamy texture and deliciously tart flavor to the mix. The peach herb salad adds that deliciously sweet flavor. The raspberry jalapeño jam adds the sweet and heat needed.

Truth be told, the idea for this burger came to Val after we ate a local burger joint’s turkey burger. They had a raspberry habanero chutney on a turkey burger, so we definitely owe the Abbey Burger a shoutout for these Farmers Market Turkey Burgers. No matter what, we really hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did. We will absolutely be making these at least once a month.

As always, from our kitchen to yours, cheers!

Yum
