Inspiration

As the weather is getting nicer and nicer we have been trying all new recipes with spring veggies and flavors. Asparagus is one of our favorite vegetables to cook with, the earthy crisp flavor is delicious alone or paired with so many other ingredients. We quickly decided to pair our favorite vegetable with goat cheese for a hint of creaminess. The flatbread part kind of just happened, I think Phillip was in the mood for pizza when we were grocery shopping! We couldn’t be happier with the result of this Goat Cheese and Asparagus Flatbread.

Tools

Sheet Pan: We used a sheet pan to lay out our dough and bake this flatbread. But really any oven safe pan of your choice would work.

Ingredients

Goat Cheese: This creamy silky cheese is the perfect cheese for this Goat Cheese and Asparagus Flatbread and all the flavors we pair the cheese with. Feta would be a good substitution if you don’t enjoy goat cheese but you will have a slightly saltier flavor.

Prosciutto: This salty cured Italian meat is the perfect addition to any pizza or flatbread but paired with the goat cheese makes you melt when you take a bite. The prosciutto crisps up perfectly in the oven as well.

Asparagus, Green Onion, & Chives: The mixture of flavors on this flatbread really comes together in an amazing way. The earthy flavor of the asparagus is pepped up by the zing from the green onion. And the chives give you that spicy garlic flavor without the full on garlic.
